High-risk sites lacked continuous monitoring.
Fraudulent transactions and collusion went undetected.
Deliveries and night operations exposed assets.
Siloed systems slowed oversight and raised costs.
As one of South Africa’s largest grocery retailers, the client faced the daunting task of protecting high-value assets across more than 1,600 stores, distribution centres, and their corporate headquarters. The scale and complexity of operations left critical gaps: late-night deliveries, high-risk locations, and fragmented oversight from multiple disconnected systems. Losses from theft, fraud, and operational inefficiencies were mounting — and traditional guarding alone could not keep pace.

We partnered with the retailer to design and deliver a fully integrated security and technology ecosystem. At the centre of this was a new National Security Operations Centre (NSOC), supported by advanced on-site installations and AI-driven monitoring. Together, these elements created a seamless framework that tackled each challenge head-on.
Continuous Surveillance
AI-enabled CCTV, intruder detection, and smart shelving deployed across high-risk sites, monitored centrally to ensure real-time coverage.
EPOS Integrated Monitoring
The National Security Operations Centre (NSOC) connects directly to tills, identifying suspicious transactions instantly and surfacing linked footage for rapid investigation.
Out-of-Hours Protection
Intruder alarms, biometric access control, and remote monitoring kept assets secure during night-time operations and deliveries.
Central Command Hub
The NSOC was designed and built as the single command point, streamlining incident response, cutting costs, and boosting efficiency nationwide.
By combining technology integration with a people-first approach, Lodge delivered more than systems — we built a living, centralised security ecosystem. The NSOC empowers the client to respond faster, act smarter, and protect people, property, and brand reputation nationwide.
